Breaking the Cycle of Abuse

Healing, Advocacy, and Prevention

Since 1984, The Children’s Center for Hope & Healing has provided free counseling, education, and advocacy for those impacted by child sexual abuse. Serving 13 counties in Northeast Georgia, we offer specialized programs, including Victim Services, Latino Victim Services, Project Pathfinder, Adult Services, and Prevention Services.

With locations in Gainesville, Cumming, and Clarksville, we reach hundreds each year. Project Pathfinder is the only program of its kind in the region, and we are among the few agencies offering free counseling for survivors of all ages.

All of our services are no-cost or, in the case of Project Pathfinder's services for teens, are low-cost. If you or a loved one has experienced sexual abuse, please call us today.

What we do for those impacted by childhood sexual abuse

Free mental health services for children, teens, and adults

The Children’s Center for Hope & Healing provides free mental health services for children, teens, and adults impacted by childhood sexual abuse, as well as youth with problematic sexual behaviors. Many people in our community face limitations related to accessing mental healthcare due to costs, especially those with no insurance. However, the Children’s Center for Hope and Healing is a unique mental healthcare agency in that it provides mental health services at no cost to children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced childhood sexual abuse and to youth with problematic sexual behaviors. Because of the generosity of our donors, community partners, and grant funding, we provide life-changing therapy and support for free. No child is turned away because of their inability to pay for services.

Why we do it

Imagine a child, too anxious to focus on school, burdened by fear and self-doubt...

A child who struggles to sleep at night, their dreams haunted by what they have endured. Imagine parents, heartbroken and desperate to see their child smile again.

These are the families who come to us. Children and adolescents who have experienced sexual abuse often face overwhelming obstacles: panic attacks, depression, self-harm, and even thoughts of suicide. Without specialized care, these young lives may spiral into despair. But with the right support, healing is possible.

We believe every child deserves a chance to dream, to learn, to play, and to thrive. That is why we provide treatment that addresses not just the symptoms, but the root causes of trauma—empowering survivors to reclaim their lives and achieve their full potential. We see these children regain control, overcome trauma, and flourish in school, at home, and in life. Every success story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit—and the power of healing.
